Does it cost me anything to register?

Nope, as a Bark Buildings resident you get to enjoy all the perks free of charge.

How does Bark Buildings decide which local services to recommend?

Each communities dedicated pet concierge is in charge of selecting the recommended services for their community. The pet concierge contacts each provider to gather more information about their experience, processes, employment practices, and policies. They take many other factors into consideration, such as online reviews, and continuously reassess the recommended businesses based on resident feedback. At the end of the vetting process, each business is evaluated and must meet an exceptional level of quality in order to make the cut.

Do I have to live in a Bark Building in order to register?

Yes. Bark Buildings is exclusively available to residents living in our partnered communities.

How do I find a Bark Building near me?

In Jersey City only, Bark Buildings also provides in-home pet care services such as dog walking through its team of full and part time employees. See below for more frequently asked questions pertaining to our Jersey City operations. 

What are your hours of operation?

Services are available Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm, but in home sitting services are available 365 days a year. Our customer service hours are listed below, but you can always contact your pet care professional during a service by messaging them directly through the app. For urgent issues a manager is always on standby, just call us.

Are you insured?

Absolutely! We are fully insured and bonded for the safety of you and your dog.

Are your pet care professionals background checked?

Yes, Bark Buildings conducts in depth background checks on all new team members before they are brought on board.

What is your employee training process?

We take training very seriously. Prior to being hired, all dog walkers are interviewed and required to pass an assessment that tests their pet care knowledge. If they are hired, each dog walker on our team goes through an extensive multi-day training program consisting of theoretical and field training with a Canine Specialist and Community Manager. All walkers start out walking single dogs and slowly work their way up to more complex group services as they gain more experience and complete higher levels of training. Training and development remains an ongoing requirement for all staff members throughout their employment with Bark Buildings. 

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancelling scheduled services is free, as long as you submit your request before the deadline. For all services other than In Home Sitting, the cancellation deadline is 5pm on the day before your scheduled service. Services that are canceled after 5pm on the day before the service will be charged a $10 fee and services canceled on the same day will be charged in full.

Can I book same day services?

We will always do our best to accommodate same day bookings, but availability may vary depending on the walker scheduled within your building. Please make sure to submit any last minute bookings by texting our hotline at (844) 822-3647, to ensure our Community Manager receives your request as quickly as possible!

How can I qualify for the starting price listed for each service? 

The price you pay for each service depends on the number of weekly recurring services that you sign up for. For example, if you book five of the 15 Minute Solo Walk services on a weekly recurring basis, you’ll qualify for the lowest price of $15/service. If you book just one 15 Minute Solo Walk service, the price will be $18. For sittings, reduced pricing is based on five or more consecutive nights but they are not required to be weekly recurring.

How much do you charge for adding a second dog? 

Adding an additional dog from the same household is only an extra $5 per service (with the exception of In-Home Sitting and Obedience Training services). In-Home Sitting is an additional $10/service, while Obedience Training is $20/service.

Will you assign the same pet care professionals to walk my dog whenever possible?

Yes, we do our best to provide you and your pet with the consistency of seeing the same familiar faces when possible. Our employees prefer it that way as well!

Do you operate in poor weather conditions?

Yes but we may alter the service depending on the condition. If there are significant changes made to services due to the weather, we will always do our best to notify you in advance. 

Do I need to lend you a copy of my key everyday? 

Nope! Bark Buildings works directly with your building’s management team to obtain a copy of your key which is kept in a secure lockbox within your building.

How many dogs do you walk at one time?

Depending on the type of service you book, we walk between 1 and 4 dogs at a time. To ensure the highest level of safety and quality we never walk more than 4 at a time.
